5.Mood Challenges

I have several years of experience treating Bipolar Disorder. I see patients through a strengths-based lense because many of the world's most talented artists and musicians struggle with these difficulties. It is important to lift the stigma while also promoting honesty about safety and fostering tools to stabilize mood via a combination of mood monitoring techniques, social rhythms therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, psychopharmacological education, exercise, and nutrition. It is often important to partner with a psychiatrist. Because I do not have a psychiatrist on staff, I am not able to prescribe medication, but I do offer psychotherapy and treatment planning. In addition, I regularly consult with psychiatrists in the community for patients who are willing to sign a release form.

In addition, I have experience treating eating disorders and other psychotic and mood challenges using core CBT techniques, and DBT distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I can additionally recommend placement settings for patients who could benefit from a higher level of care.
